Its Not Dead Afterall

So today I was playing around with the Laptop monitor again and when playing with the LCD converter, one of the chips fell off of it. After re-soldiering the chip back on and reconnecting everything, it works again! Hurray! This actually makes me quite happy. I am working with a monitor cable to Jeff gave me to figure out what is what for the input cables. I have yet to actually cut the wires, I guess I am a little afraid that I will render the whole thing completely useless. I like playing with computer innards in order to figure out what exactly is happening, but am too lazy to really figure it all out. So yeah, dont know what else to talk about so... See you tomorrow or later.

Camping

This weekend Rachel the kids and I all went down to Levan canyon and quite enjoyed ourselves. We spent Saturday, Sunday and Monday there. Saturday night we basically setup and hung out with the friends and decided what we would do the following day. It was decided that me and my in-laws brother, Keith, would go on a crazy long hike and go 4-wheeling. So after eating breakfast and getting ready everyone, including Rachel and the kids, went on a Hike. It was about 1 mile in that my kids were whining so badly about having to walk for apparently no reason that Rachel turned back to camp. We continued to hike for several hours(4) and we finally reached the highest mountain in immediate sight and it only took 2 hours to get back. I don't have any idea what it was called, but it was up Chicken Creek Canyon and it was tall. I have a couple pictures here if you would like to see them.

This is Keith almost at the summit.

Check it out! You could even see clear down onto the other side of the mountains down to Manti!

This is Sean, Steven and I at the summit. Keith is taking the picture.

And now, Rachel on the 4-wheeler

Mikaila.. Did I mention that my kids are really not that squeamish

Well, hope you all had a great weekend. See you on Tuesday!

Ideas

Well, since Rachel has been working at this pet grooming shop with her sister, she has identified the need for a computer and software to assist with the clean up of their current filing system. I was thinking to myself, I could just give them a copy of E@sy D3ntal to keep the place moving, but then I thought about it a little more. Perhaps this is my chance to provide a software solution of means. I will create them a software that will keep everything they do. Yes, there are softwares already available, but none of them look very clean, nor are they cheap. The cheapest of them all was 123p(e)t which was $299. Plus then you add the computer on top of that and it gets a little expensive for them. I actually have an old computer that could be used for them in the office, but its a little old and doesn't have a monitor, then this brought me to my old laptop.. this old laptop, boasting a 133Mhz processor and 256mb RAM, preloaded with Windows 95 was the cooling thing back in early '92 or something, either way it was old and couldnt cut it. So I decided to CUT it. Hehe, point is that I ripped the old laptop apart in the desire of using its monitor for this other computer that would cut the snuff. I think I have about got it, but I think I may have fried the backlight on it. I have played and played with it, but I think it is dead.... RIP lappymon. Its so sad.

Busy Busy

Well, work has been quite busy lately and with all the Enterprise stuff going on it is even busier. I have actually had something to do for most every minute of each day. Of course I still slack off a little, but that is technically called a Break.

"Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour."

"Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. "

If you don't know where that quote came from then you probably don't deserve to be reading my blog... Well on a brighter note, that new job on the intranet is actually for the NIS side of basically my job. Someone to deal with NIS SHPR's and so on. In all actuality it would be a good position for most anyone. Well, I have no idea what I will be doing this weekend, but I will be sure to make sure it is fun. If I dont see you before monday, have a good weekend!
